HLMSW feature requests

In addition to the new features announced in the previous post (HLMSW Road Map into 2013) a couple of interesting requests have been made which have been added to the HLMSW 7.3 road map.

  1. Management Reporting – I have been asked to create a routine that provides a one click status report of the HLMSW system about recent transaction and pending transactions with information about order entry, sending, returning and invoicing.  The new feature will also provide graphical analysis allowing you to compare input and output on a year-by-year and company basis.
  2. Form Data Input – in addition to the new routines that allow HLMSW to export data into a PDF form, HLMSW will also allow you to IMPORT customer entered data directly from a PDF straight into a HLMSW transaction.  Much in the same way Zinfonia has provided more efficient order handling by removing the requirement to retype customer orders, you will be able to do the same thing for any questions NOT asked by Zinfonia.

There are a number of small bug fixes and change requests, and so if you have something to say, now is a good time.

A preview of the first incarnations of HLMSW version 7.3 with the messaging system will be available in the next few weeks.   What will it look like?  Well here is a screenshot of the message screen.  Notice that HLMSW notes will  now also have the ability to display different coloured text which is very useful for visibility.

Users of this version of HLMSW will also have code that will heralds the launch of the Universal Instrumentation Code (UIC) project.  For the moment, the code is really only there to help us build an authoritative database of all musical instruments but by August next year, all users with HLMSW and Zinfonia will benefit from a catalogue with enhanced the readability and visibility thanks to this standard for instrumental notation.  Closer to the time, we will be working with all of you individually create personalised UIC display templates that match your existing  styles and conventions.  More on this soon.
