Peter Grimshaw has been invited to present a paper at the IAML Conference in Wien in the Notation and Classification session on the morning of July 29th 2013.
This paper (co-authored by colleagues from the University of Adelaide: James Koehne and Mark Carroll) discusses in detail the theory and application of the Universal Instrumentation Code (UIC)
The UIC is a system developed by Peter Grimshaw which is designed to provide non-language specific classification, location and display of instrumental parts through the creation of a classification system designed specifically for this purpose. Click here view an outline of the proposal
The UIC will become a key platform for the HLMSW, Zinfonia and RamReader projects, but the system and databases will also be freely available under a Creative Commons licence through tools available on the Zinfonia website.
To make provision for this trip, our previously published plans to attend Frankfurt in April have been postponed until 2014.
