At the recent MOLA conference in Montreal, we shared some interesting statistics with about Zinfonia. Zinfonia currently has more than 92,000 titles by 8,500 composers from 380 publishers serving more than 11,000 customers in 96 countries and these numbers are growing rapidly every day.
One aspect of the Zinfonia data that we are particularly proud of is the composers list. Every composer in Zinfonia is manually checked to make sure the information is as accurate and complete as possible in a process that is overseen by Zinfonia administrator Ulrich Steffen Eck.
As well as accuracy, we locate links to Internet resources like the composer’s home page or an entry of Wikipedia to provide an excellent starting point for research on every composer in the system. With such a comprehensive list, the search tools that allow you display composer anniversaries in the composer search page or the On this Day lists.
